RULE BOOK

1. ORGANIZATION

The M&M is a non-competitive cycling activity, organized by M&M Gravel Grinder under the legal entity Bernat Buch Boadas, on Saturday 18 May 2024, called in all its versions as M&M + its distance, with departure and arrival in Santa Susanna (Maresme).

2. FORMAT AND CHARACTERISTICS

The proposed format is NON-COMPETITIVE. It is not a march or a race. It is a personal challenge offered through the M&M Gravel Grinder where each participant is obliged to respect at all times the Road Safety Law and the Traffic Regulations in force in Spain, as well as any other regulations in force during the route designed by the Organisation. At no time does he have special priority over any of the other road users. Road safety to be taken into account during the test is developed in point 8 of the Regulations.

There are no bibs, but if they are, the identifying elements of the participants will be mandatory, for their safety and for the development of the event. Attaches to the bicycle, personal and non-transferable identification for the participant and his bicycle. They will also be carrying a tracker or geo locator delivered to the cyclist's bag, subject to a deposit of 50 euros, refundable at the end of the event and upon returning the same geo locator. Online tracking of all participants will be through the page, being able to follow their progress on the interactive map on the website https://tracmove.es/.

There is timing, and cut-off times. These cut-off times, located at the technical and refreshment points by the Organization, will be more than sufficient for all the participants, regardless of their level, to be able to enjoy the test with the minimum necessary physical condition to deal with distances like these with a gradient like this.

The cut-off times should be respected for your own safety and that of the test. In case of not complying with this schedule, the participant can continue on his own without the support and responsibility of the Organizer, or he can choose the shortest and easiest route to return to Santa Susanna. The cut-off times will be published in the cyclist's dossier published and announced on the official website and social networks.

In the case of abandonment due to a fault that makes it impossible for the participant, the Organization cannot be responsible for the collection of the same. It allows, as far as possible, a return to the exit through the staff of each of the control points, once the passage of all cyclists has been completed.

There is no signposting of the route. The test is carried out with GPS tracking of a track provided by the Organization. It will be mandatory to follow the route marked by the track. The official and definitive track will be sent to each participant during the weeks prior to the date of the event. Mandatory GPS, mobile phone and auxiliary battery.

Type of bicycle. This event has been designed to ride on Gravel bikes. However, the use of any type of bicycle capable of riding off-road is permitted.

The presence of e-bike versions is not contemplated in this Regulation. If the demand for participation of e-bikes is considerable, the Organization will assess and manage the presence of these.

3. TOUR AND DEVELOPMENT

There are 3 routes. All three are circular with departure and arrival in Santa Susanna, with the following distances and gradients:

200 KM - 5,000+ / DEPARTURE 6:00 AM / EXPECTED ARRIVAL TIME 7:00 PM

120 KM - 2,500+ / DEPARTURE 8:00 AM / EXPECTED ARRIVAL TIME 4:00 PM

85 KM - 1,400+ / DEPARTURE 8:00 AM / EXPECTED ARRIVAL TIME 1:00 PM

*approximate data and based on an average cyclist.

After the start, the group will roll in a smooth neutralized form during the first kilometers, once these kilometers have passed, each participant will be free to circulate at the most appropriate pace for him.

The itinerary runs through mountain terrain, along paths, tracks and some trails; each participant must be fully aware of the length and difficulty of the test, which may take place sometime at night, under possible weather conditions of cold, rain or wind. Therefore, you must ensure that your clothing, as well as the necessary physical conditions, are the most appropriate to perform the test.

The route is not signposted, it is the responsibility of each participant to obtain and follow the test track provided by the organization. Sections that run through roads or town streets are not cut off from traffic, so general traffic rules must be respected.

The types of terrain through which the route travels are varied, alternating between county roads with asphalted and dirt mountain roads. It is recommended to use off-road tires between at least 37 mm and 42 mm and the use of transmission sets suitable for climbing slopes that will exceed 20% at some point. The perfect condition of the bicycle is mandatory to tackle the entire route safely.

Mandatory lights. The departure times and the safety circular itself make it mandatory to carry lights, front and rear.

In case of abandonment, the staff of the organization must be notified as soon as possible, either from one of the control points or through the telephone number provided by the organization itself. The organization will have several emergency technical support points at the main supply points.

The organization may suspend the test if the weather conditions so advise or for other reasons of force majeure. In this case, registration fees will not be returned.

The test is carried out in a maximum time, in a single stage and the regime of semi-self-sufficiency. For this reason, each participant must have the ability to organize and orient themselves with their own autonomy, survival between the different checkpoints and supplies, both from the point of view of food and clothing and safety.

As support, the organization will have several checkpoints and refreshments, which will have drinks and food in quantities that are considered reasonable given the registration of the event in semi-self-sufficiency. There will be 6 in the 200K modality, 3 in the 120K modality, and 1 in the 85K modality. Their locations and details will be specified in the participant's guide.

Each participant is required to take the waste generated to the points indicated by the organization or to the finish line.

4. PARTICIPATION

The event is open to all athletes over the age of 18 on the day of the event. By registering, you know and accept without reservation these regulations. Registered participants confirm that they are fully informed of the format and characteristics of the M&M and are aware of the length, difficulty and physical demands of the test. They confirm that they have the knowledge, experience, material and physical and psychological level necessary to face and overcome possible problems related to the demands of a long-distance non-stop event.

Our participation in the overall set of participants is limited to a number that will be determined and exposed at the time of the opening of registrations. For obvious safety reasons and the natural environment in which the test takes place, the number of participants is limited.

Those registered can choose to participate in the new date or request that it be transferred to the 2025 edition. None in which case the cancellation will proceed.

6. IDENTIFICATION ELEMENTS AND MANDATORY MATERIALS

All participants must wear the bib clip on their bike. This element is essential for the safety of the runners and the Organization and for the correct development of the test. Identification at refreshments, control points and in the different services offered may not be served without this identification.

The tracker, geolocalized, will be delivered to the participant's bag under a deposit of €50, which will be returned at the finish line upon delivery in perfect condition.

Given the self-sufficiency nature of the test and although it will have different refreshment points, each participant must anticipate the amount of food and drink to complete the route.

Mandatory material:

- Rigid and approved helmet

- GPS

- Telephone

- Auxiliary battery for both devices

- Front and rear lights

- Waterproof raincoat

- Thermal blanket and whistle

- Basic kit of tools and spare parts. Identification elements and security material.

7. MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE

Along the route, different control points will be established which, depending on the selected distance, will be located in one town or another. Refreshments will be available during the route at different points that the Organization will have designed in each case.

8. ROAD SAFETY, ACCIDENT INSURANCE AND RC

All participants must carefully observe the provisions of the road safety law and its provisions. The route takes place almost entirely on tracks and paths, but at some points we will cross or use roads open to traffic, where we will have to take extreme caution or strictly comply with traffic rules.

Every person registered for the test will be covered during their participation, within the route and timetables established, at least by accident insurance according to RD 849/1003, of June 4, which establishes the minimum capitals for accidents of athletes, with the guarantee of health care. The organization will also have its own civil liability insurance.

Although the organization is not responsible for any accident that may be caused or victimized by the participant, caused by a reckless or irresponsible action on their part, nor is it liable for the costs of the debts that the participants may incur during the event, nor of the damages or breakdowns that may be suffered by the bicycles or other equipment of the participants. The participant exempts the organization from responsibility for loss or deterioration of personal items due to any circumstance.

The bib number assigned to each participant is non-transferable, and cannot be transferred to any other person without prior knowledge and authorization from the organization of the test. The insurance processed by this only covers the number holder, who will be the one who appears on the list of registrants.

The participant knows that adequate previous training is required and that they do not have any injury that could be aggravated as a consequence of the completion of the test, so pre-registration implies the express recognition by the person who performs it of fulfilling both conditions, exempting to the organization of any liability derived from non-compliance with all of the above. In any case, each participant in the test assumes the health consequences that may arise from their participation in the test, exempting the organization of the same from any type of responsibility that may arise for this reason. Likewise, he is responsible for the state of his physical condition, for knowing the route and the physical demands it entails, for the medical examination of his health, for the damages that could be caused by his participation, assuming personally the inherent health risk posed by the effort required to participate.

9. ENVIRONMENT, CIVILITY AND RESPECT

One of the goals and wishes of the M&M is to show the wealth of landscape and nature that the natural parks of Montnegre and Corredor and Montseny have. Demonstrating that enjoying these places can be compatible with active tourism activities is one of our goals.

The route takes place for the most part through natural areas, so it will be everyone's responsibility to preserve the environment, it being terminally forbidden to throw rubbish outside the control areas. In order to contribute to the minimum environmental impact of the test, the participants will use the containers located at the refreshment points and strategic points to throw away all the waste generated.

10. IMAGE RIGHTS AND DATA PROTECTION

The acceptance of these regulations obligatorily implies that the participant authorizes the organization of the event, the total or partial recording of his participation in the same, and that he gives his consent so that his image can be used in the promotion and dissemination of the test, in all possible forms (radio, press, video, photo, internet, posters, media, and social networks) and assigns all rights related to commercial and advertising exploitation that the organization considers opportune to execute, with no right on his part to receive any financial compensation.

In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13, on the Protection of Personal Data, all participant data collected on the registration form will be included in a private file of the organization of the test, with exclusively management and commercial purposes for the collaborating brands. All interested parties may exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation or opposition to the use of data by email to: info@mmgravelgrinder.com.

11. ACCEPTANCE AND RESPONSIBILITY

The mere fact of signing up for this test implies the acceptance of these Regulations and the waiver of all rights against the Organization, waiving any legal action that may arise from participation in the test.

The organization reserves the right to make appropriate changes, when deemed necessary for any reason, by communicating these changes to the usual means of broadcasting the event. Likewise, the right of admission is reserved.
